Typical Work
-
Footpath, track and trail construction and repair
-
Woodland planting, hedgelaying, plug planting
-
Building log dams, installing coir and heather bale sediment traps
-
Tracking materials to and from remote sites
-
Vegetation mowing and flailing
-
Operating an excavator – reprofiling hags, creating peat dams
-
Other conservation / land management tasks
Essential Criteria
-
Full UK Driving License
-
Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
-
Can complete physically demanding manual work in remote outdoor sites
-
Happy to travel through the north of England
-
Positive attitude and problem solving ethic
-
Ability to comply with health and safety policies
Desirable Criteria
-
Experience of working in national parks / national landscapes / outdoor environments / conservation
-
Experience in operating large machinery & qualifications
-
Chainsaw / Spraying Tickets
